THE UNITED BIRDS OF
LOKHANDWALA
The Lokhandwala Lake is an isolated paradise nestled in the heart of Mumbai city. Full of bio-diversity this ecological wonder has long been ignored & abused by the citizens and authorities of Mumbai. It is known to have 122 species of birds, a few species of mammals like Jackals, common Mangoose, jungle cats, bats, rodents and various reptiles.
Despite this, the lake is choked with plastic bags, glass bottles and religious offerings like flowers,
Murtis and even food. Even though the BMS has a separate man-made pool for Visargan during Ganesh Chaturthi individuals submerge their murtis here.
Additionally, the isolated nature of the lake attracts noisy neighbours like noisy crowds, dancing teens and drinking jokers. The last contributing to the shattered glass bottles that you find not just near the lakes but in the surrounding wetlands too.
At Rove Jungli, we believe that all these issues stem from one and only one source i.e. unawareness. With united birds of Lokhandwala, we hope to educate the masses so they can be one with the other residents of Lokhandwala- its flora and fauna. We will be launching multiple recurring cleanup drives to let action be our primary speaker in the foreseeable future.

PLASTIC IS BAD! OR IS IT?
According to us, plastic is nothing short of a miracle. We must learn how to use it, reuse it and dispose it. We run this campaign in our Instagram stories where we call out major brands forcing them to get rid of unwanted plastic and also forcing the regular joe into thinking how he/she should use plastic.
